Yeah, I'm running another series parallel to Hatter Madness!
I had the idea for Witchy Wonders when a impulse buy got me to consider theming some posts together I had already planned for Halloween. 2026 is a good year for witches in pop culture, with several big projects themed on them, and I always love talking about the witch archetype and reviewing toys based on them. See the extensive list of posts in the "witch" tag linked at the bottom of this one in desktop mode! I considered saving this series for a Halloween marathon like I've done these two prior years, but one of the entries is going to be about a new summer release, making it too topical to put off to October, and there's no harm in running this series over an extended period rather than flooding the spooky season. So why not start now? Several of these witches aren't directly Halloween-themed.
While I could easily do a special-topic series over ten posts long just about dolls of the Wicked Witch of the West Oz character, this is not that project, and Wicked Witch dolls and licensed characters are not barred from contention in this series. I'm not limiting to non-licensed or non-OC dolls. It's a free-for-all as long as it's witches and I want to review them!
I'm considering perhaps having two witches (or two focal witches) per post because I might be able to have things line up that way and it makes things tidy. I know two posts will feature a duo, and I can squeeze two standalone dolls into a duo based on their aesthetic/thematic commonality.
I'm not going to be too fussed about the release chronology of the witches I review, and it'll be based more on the order in which I get the witches and when they're ready to publish, with consideration for the spookiest/most seasonal falling in Halloween time. My first Witchy Wonders review is going up shortly! I hope you enjoy.
