As detailed in my Welcome page and my first doll review on this blog, I started a doll collection when I was a teenager, but felt too unconfident about my hobby at that fragile age and decided to get rid of the dolls as part of a downsizing project when our house was being sold at the time. I deeply regret that now, of course, but I thought it would be a fun curiosity to put down the dolls I had back then, with notes for what I kept and what I ended up reacquiring (with links to those reviews). Do keep in mind that I made no effort to reobtain any of these dolls in the same order I initially obtained them, so review links to them jump around in order of when I wrote them for the blog.
Doll lines within brands are listed for the dolls even when the information is redundant (i.e., that character had no other releases so their only line was the one they're listed under). Many of these choices were driven by acquiring the character moreso than their specific edition, with several slim-box budget editions being picked because they were an easy way to get X or Y character, only for me to not like them as dolls because of my choice. Today, I'm more thoughtful with my selections. There are still several dolls I never should have let go, though none in the realm of "crazy grail" because I was collecting late into Monster High and didn't have the means to get more prized items. This is divided into categories and listed chronologically within categories, but some of these doll brands intersected with each other in the fully chronological order, which I still have (I'm so glad I recorded it!)

- I Love Fashion Iris Clops
- Great Scarrier Reef Down Under Ghouls Posea Reef

She was the sole doll I held onto and saved from the purge of this collection, but I ultimately had to replace many of her parts to get her to reviewable state, making it murkier whether she still counts as being kept from the old collection or not.)

- Anti-Styling Head (garage sale find, incomplete kit, it was the version with pale green skin and blue hair with yellow streaks)
Monster High G2
- Welcome to Monster High Dance the Fright Away Deuce Gorgon (I got him out of curiosity and liked his buffer body sculpt but hated his G2 face paint, and popped a G1 Deuce onto his body. I repeated these steps with a different G1 Deuce head in my current collection.)
- Welcome to Monster High Monstrous Rivals Draculaura (part of a two-pack)
- Welcome to Monster High Monstrous Rivals Moanica D'Kay (I got the two-pack for Moanica, but this same "signature" design for the character also had a solo release I would have picked instead if it was available where I shopped)
- Winning Werewolves Clawdeen Wolf (part of a two-pack)
- Winning Werewolves Clawd Wolf (the other half of the two-pack; I got it for him)
- Shriekwrecked Gillington "Gil" Webber

- Disney Store Alice Through the Looking-Glass Hatter
- Jakks Pacific Alice Through the Looking-Glass White Queen
