This doll was the reason I committed to a whole project of Alice Hatter dolls. One of the forthcoming dolls was likely going to be reviewed this year regardless, but when I discovered this particular doll existed last December, I needed him absolutely. I could have gotten him immediately, but instead I realized I found a niche series topic I could chain with other doll Hatters, both on my radar and newly discovered. Barbie making a Mad Hatter is not super unusual...but this art style, with proportions inspired by the illustrations? That instantly made him a must-have.

Duck, Duck, Her Goose Is Cooked: Living Dead Dolls Series 23 Quack by Mezco Toyz

The final doll of Series 23 has arrived: Quack, a loopy-looking doll in a fuzzy sailor duck costume whose tea was implicitly drugged.

I liked Quack's oddball charm and detail, and she was planned as the finale of the collection for a while. I expected to like her a lot, my ideas for her worked as a cap to the doll reviews, and it made sense with her being the most pricey in the aftermarket.

Burned at Teatime, But Not How You'd Think: Living Dead Dolls Series 23 Jennocide by Mezco Toyz

Yes, that is her name. Yes, I heavily disagree with the choice. Just making that clear. I'm being a descriptivist and honoring the character's official name but I find it poorly-chosen for its inappropriate glibness and its irrelevance to her concept.

I've admired many Living Dead Dolls, but mostly I pick and choose from collections which ones I want. I generally lack the completionist impulse as a collector, and yet I found one series I'm getting everyone in. This is the first of those dolls.
