REVISIT: Headless Headmistress Bloodgood

This doll deserved so much better than the factory gave her, and she was one of the casualties of being an early review where I wasn't yet doing justice to all of my dolls. Headmistress Bloodgood was overdue for a revisit, and the actual completion of the revisit was also overdue--it began in 2025 and stalled out!

"Now SERVING" or "Dolls Divided 3/2": The Monster High Skullector "Beetlejuice" Waiting Room Two-Pack, and a Zombini/Viv Revisit!

...so Mattel made a fool out of me. Remember how last year, I did a two-half project about two-half gimmick horror dolls which split apart at the waist, comparing the body designs of brand-new Monster High manananggal Corazón Marikit and classic Living Dead Dolls' unfortunate magician's assistant Viv? Yeah, well, turns out I should have waited a year, I guess, because it turned out Mattel was adapting the bisecting concept to the exact same murdered magician's assistant concept as Viv. It's a real Doofenshmirtz's Nickels situation here. There aren't many dolls in this type, but weird that it happened twice. Poor Viv never got her timing right--first an incomplete solo review in 2024, then a review of her full two-pack set ahead of her ideal MH counterpart! And now I don't know what this post is. I can't very well add a third half to the two I wrote. It's unmathematical. Is this a third in a series or a separate review that happens to be a follow-up to a duology? Yes.

Why am I making this post?

Well, you can probably infer there are two distinct reasons from that cover photo. First off--of all the LDD acquisitions I consider to be collective fandom grail dolls, Chloe from Series 12 has had a pretty unfair hand dealt to her. 

REVISIT: The Monster High Monsters Frankenstein

For a doll so compelling and gorgeous as Monster High's Bride of Frankenstein, I really didn't do her justice. Nor, for that matter, her Monster mate or Mattel's derivative character, G1 Frankie. Their reviews were too early in the blog (like, literally my first two reviews) for me to have gotten into my current photo practice.

This is an unusual one--I'm re-reviewing one Living Dead Doll here because I decided I wanted her in full context, and since Mattel dropped another bisecting horror doll, having two posts was resonant.

Back when I started this blog two years ago, I was more ideas than execution, and some of my doll subjects just didn't get many or any elaborate or fully-presented photos. Since I've now established a practice of quick update posts with more photos of dolls I had ideas or means to shoot with after their original review, it was high time to rescue a very old favorite: Dianée "DiDi" DiPterri, my Monster High OC based on The Fly (1958).

Bloody Mary Finally Complete!

Back in June last year, I had my fourth LDD roundup review, focused on gruesome characters, including Bloody Mary from Series 17. I selected Mary at that time because I found a copy with a manufacturing error that mirrored her plastic coffin lid, and I found that a particularly resonant novelty that elevated the doll. However, in my haste to get that mirror-lid Mary, I failed to see that the copy did not include the chipboard completing the coffin, and this has remained a problem since. I finally saw a decently cheap Mary with everything but the physical box, and I scooped it up to be able to finally complete my own copy.

Back in G1 and my original doll collection, Frankie Stein was not necessarily my favorite character, but she was the character I had the most dolls of. Those hold exactly true for Frankie in G3, as they've had hit after hit and they're still going. I wanted to bring in some new Frankies and revisit the ones I had.
